Mossley, a quaint and serene village nestled near the edge of a mystical druid grove. This picturesque settlement exudes an aura of natural beauty, surrounded by lush forests, meandering streams, and the distant peaks of the imposing mountains.
The relationship between Mossley and the druids of the grove has been marred by tension and unease. Despite their shared proximity, the villagers and the druids find themselves at odds over the presence of a magnificent and formidable creature known as Ogg, the dire bear. Ogg, a legendary guardian of the grove, has taken it upon himself to protect the sacred grounds and its inhabitants.
The villagers of Mossley have never been directly threatened by Og, as the bear respects the boundaries between his territory and the village. Yet, his constant patrols through the forest deter the evil gnoll tribe known as the Duskfangs from venturing into the woods. Consequently, the gnolls prefer to roam the roads near Mossley instead, leading to frequent and perilous raids on the village.
Due to the gnoll menace, Mossley faces challenges in receiving crucial supplies from larger cities, further isolating the community from the outside world. The villagers' frustration has grown with each raid, and they have started to harbor resentment towards the druids for not taking more decisive action against the bear.
Unexpectedly, the situation took a dark turn when Og began attacking villagers who unknowingly ventured too close to the forest. This sudden aggression caused alarm and fear among the Mossley residents, prompting the village council, led by the steadfast council head named Throden Oakes, to seek outside assistance.
In desperation, the council reached out to renowned hunters, hoping they could remove the threat posed by the once-protective Og. However, this call for help deepened the animosity between Mossley and the druid grove. Sunflower, the enigmatic and resolute leader of the druids, vehemently expressed that they would not permit the senseless poaching of their sacred guardian.
