Summary. The Yuan-ti have formed the Cult of the Nameless one and left the secluded Jungles of Daithron in search of Hellish Writs to sacrifice to their god. Matthias and Karstan had a relationship where they would procure the writs and Karstan would barter them to the Yuan-ti. They are aware that the party have gathered the writs from Matthias and are ready to kill them.
In the time before the Span, the Yuan-ti had a home in what is now claled the Arborehold Spine and forest. A long forgotten citadel is hidden under the mountain. It was abandoned when the first men began to settle in Eastern Valtera. Being pushed out by heroes in ages past. But, the cult of the nameless one was shown this location by the nameless serpent. It serves as their headquarters for them to sacrifice devils and writs to the god.
Why Mathias?
The Clerics of Hextor brought in Brother Mathias to hold these writs. Mathias has collected many writs with the assistance of the clerics. They would deliver at the den through their liason the Mistresses. It was a win win for both and kept the Yuan-ti at bay for the last 5 years.
The party is aware of the Yuan-ti presence in Mystwall. The party found a cult to a snake god in their first excursion for the 7th Seal and put an end to the Mistress. The Yuan-ti are furious and keep popping up to kill the players.
Zolina Hawthorne comes to the Tama. She falls into his arms. They have taken Penn. They told Zoi to come to Epoch and let the party know that if they didn't turn over the writs that Mathias has, they will give him a terrible death.
Set the Stakes. What do the characters stand to lose? Penn will die and not be resurrectable.
